Please contact reception at Ascot Psychology & Allied Health if you cannot find an answer to your question.
No, you do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, if you would like to claim a Medicare Rebate for your session, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan from your General Practitioner or Psychiatrist.
Individual counselling sessions usually last for 50 to 60 minutes or what is considered the “therapeutic hour”. This purpose of this is to avoid fatigue for the client as well as the therapist.
Assessment sessions are usually longer and may vary depending on the needs of the client receiving treatment.
The first appointment with Belle will be mostly information gathering, and will occur for 50 to 60 minutes. During this session Belle will try to understand your history, what has brought you to therapy, and your goals for therapy. There may be questionnaires to fill out at the first appointment as well. For clients under 18-years-old, Belle will usually request that one or both parents are present for part or all of the session, to help with the information gathering process.
To book an appointment with Belle, please contact reception at Ascot Psychology & Allied Health or book online under "Appointments".
